- Deep Hole Drilling Tool
When holes with high length to diameter ratios are required in industrial
products, conventional twist drills are in are inadequate because
of their double cutting edge and limited flute length. To overcome
the problem inherent with twist drills, single-tipped self-piloting
tools are used. With such tools, the geometry of the drill head
is such that the forces generated at the single cutting edge are
balanced by guide pads positioned at approximately 90° and 180°
to the cutting edge.
